About Remind
Remind shows you how your brain is doing and what you can do about it. It works through short measurements you repeat over time, so that what is normal for you becomes visible, and so does anything that shifts.
This page sets out who is behind it, where the measurements come from, and where the limits are.
What Remind does
Forgetting things is part of getting older. The hard part is telling where ordinary ageing stops and something worth attention begins. A single moment says very little about that. A run of measurements across months says a great deal.
So Remind measures in five ways at once and follows those measurements over time. Out of that run comes a picture of your brain health, with a brain age as its summary and lifestyle advice that follows what we see in your own results.
What Remind does not do
- Remind is a wellness product and not a medical device. The app does not diagnose and it rules nothing out.
- Remind does not replace a doctor. If you are worried about your memory or how you are managing, take your results to your GP.
- Remind does not read along. We use patterns such as pace, rhythm and accuracy, never the content of what you type or say.
What we measure
Five measurements, each built on an instrument already used in research or in the clinic. Every article explains what the measurement does and where it came from.
Who we build it with
The instruments inside Remind are not our own. They were developed by researchers and clinical experts, among them teams at Amsterdam UMC, Maastricht University and the University of Groningen.
The LIBRA score comes from Maastricht University and gathers fifteen lifestyle factors you can act on. The A-IADL questionnaire comes from Alzheimer Centre Amsterdam UMC and looks at everyday functioning. The memory test, the speech analysis and the typing analysis run on technology from MemoryLab Health, Canary Speech and Neurocast.
What happens to your data
Your data is processed under encryption and shared with a small number of processors who make the measurements possible, each under a processing agreement. They may not use it for their own purposes.
From your speech and your typing we keep patterns, not content. You decide what you share and with whom, and you can have your data deleted.
