About Remind
Remind is your brain health companion. Think of it as a smoke alarm for your brain: quietly monitoring in the background and alerting you when something deserves attention. Using signals your smartphone already captures, plus short tests, the app follows how your brain is doing over time and turns what it finds into guidance you can act on.
We launched in February 2026 and we're live on iOS and Android with paying subscribers. We don't diagnose. We explain what a result means and point to the next step. That makes design the product: many of our users are aged 55 or over, some open the app worried, and clarity and warmth are what we sell.
“A Fitbit for your brain”
We only make a difference for someone's health if they keep coming back to measure: it's the picture over time that turns insight into action. That's why user growth and retention are the two numbers we steer the company on, and why design that makes people want to return is the heart of this role.
Who you'll work with
Remind is its two founders. Job, our CTO, led design and technology at Ksyos, a digital hospital, and holds a PhD in digital health. He has run product and development teams throughout his career. Willem is a serial founder, from a digital agency to a consumer app about healthier screen time. The years in between he spent on the commercial side of digital products: global digital marketing at Philips, corporate accelerators for brands such as Unilever and Heineken, and most recently venture building at NN Group. You'll be our first in-house designer, own design end to end, and work directly with both of them.
How we design and build
Remind's MVP was designed and built the classic way: the founders worked with an agency team including a UX designer and a visual designer, which delivered the first version in January 2026. Since February, the two founders have designed and shipped everything themselves, hands-on with AI tools daily, building on those foundations. It works, it's live, users like it, and it has convinced us this way of building is the future.
It has also taught us its limits. Nobody on the team today is a designer, and a growing product needs more than founders iterating on someone else's foundations. Our users deserve better. That's the job.
What you'll do
-
Own the user experience of the app
Flows, screens, interactions, and the countless small decisions in between.
-
Do real user research
Talk to users, run usability tests, and turn what you learn into design decisions we can act on.
-
Back your design choices with data
We measure in PostHog, run A/B tests, and look at campaign performance. You help decide what to test and what the results mean for the design.
-
Raise our visual bar
We have a brand and a working app. You make it feel genuinely well-crafted.
-
Own the design system
Build and maintain it in Figma, and evolve it as the product grows.
-
Prototype fast
With AI tools where they help. If you can take a small design change all the way into the codebase with AI coding tools, even better. You'll have support to learn this.
-
Design for an audience that skews older
Accessibility and legibility are core craft here.
Who we're looking for
- A medior or senior product designer with strong visual design skills and a portfolio that shows shipped mobile app work.
- Experienced across the whole design process: research, UX, UI, prototyping, and handoff.
- You know what a design system is because you've built or maintained one yourself.
- Curious and hands-on with AI tooling: you use it to move faster and you want to get better at it, including light AI-assisted coding.
- Pragmatic and happy wearing many hats: at a startup this size, design also means onboarding emails, store screenshots, and the occasional pitch deck slide.
- Based in the Netherlands, in our Amsterdam office two to three days a week (depending on your hours). We work in Dutch or English: we're two Dutch founders, fluent in English, so you don't need to speak Dutch. Dutch does help for research with our largely Dutch-speaking users.
What we offer
- Full ownership of design at a live product with traction: your decisions ship, fast.
- Founders who care deeply about design and will give you the room to do it properly.
-
A competitive salary
Depending on your experience, with 25 days' holiday and the statutory 8% holiday allowance.
-
The best tools money can buy
Your choice of laptop, and the AI subscriptions we use daily.
-
A €1,000 learning budget every year
For courses, books or conferences: whatever helps you grow.
-
Hybrid in Amsterdam
Two to three office days, commute costs covered, and a few work-from-anywhere weeks a year.
-
Help with the 30% ruling
Moving from abroad? We support your application.

We keep your application for six months, share it with no one, and delete it after that.
