About Remind
Remind is your brain health companion. Think of it as a smoke alarm for your brain: quietly monitoring in the background and alerting you when something deserves attention. Using signals your smartphone already captures, plus short tests, the app follows how your brain is doing over time and turns what it finds into guidance you can act on.
We launched in February 2026, we're live on iOS and Android with paying subscribers, and we collaborate with researchers at Maastricht University and Amsterdam UMC. We don't diagnose. We help people see where they stand and act early.
“A Fitbit for your brain”
We only make a difference for someone's health if they keep coming back to measure: it's the picture over time that turns insight into action. That's why user growth and retention are the two numbers we steer the company on, and why everything we build serves them.
Who you'll work with
Remind is its two founders. Job, our CTO, led design and technology at Ksyos, a digital hospital, and holds a PhD in digital health. He has run product and development teams throughout his career, but he doesn't write code himself. Willem is a serial founder: over the past twenty years he has started several companies of his own, from a digital agency to consumer apps, led global digital marketing at Philips, ran corporate accelerators for brands such as Unilever and Heineken, and most recently led venture building at NN Group. Between them: decades of healthcare software, consumer products, and company building. What Remind doesn't have is an engineer of its own. That's where you come in.
How we build
Remind's MVP was built the classic way: the founders worked with an agency team of two engineers and two designers, which delivered the first version in January 2026. Since February, the two founders have built and shipped everything themselves, working with AI coding agents daily: new features, auth, payments, releases, analytics, the lot. Not coincidentally, that is exactly the moment AI coding agents became good enough to make this possible. It works, it's in production, and it has convinced us this way of building is the future.
Now we want to take it further. As the product grows, and as we work towards certification as a medical device, we want someone at the CTO's side who reviews every change and sets the engineering standards we build to. That's the job.
Our stack
- Flutter (Dart)
- Node.js + TypeScript
- MongoDB
- PostHog
- Firebase
- Crashlytics
- RevenueCat
- Bitbucket
- Jira
- Claude Code
AI tooling (Claude Code and friends) is a first-class part of the daily workflow.
What you'll do
-
Become the technical conscience of Remind
You own code quality, architecture, and the long-term health of the codebase.
-
Work directly with the CTO
He knows exactly what the product should do and relies on you for how it's built.
-
Keep our AI-first way of working, and make it better
You'll direct agents to do work all day, but you review critically, set standards, and know when to write it yourself.
-
Ship features across the whole stack
App, API, database, releases to the App Store and Play Store.
-
Help us decide with data instead of gut feeling
Instrument features properly in PostHog, set up A/B tests, keep Crashlytics healthy, and grow our data-warehouse MVP into something our product choices can rest on.
-
Gradually raise the bar
Testing, CI, security, monitoring, and the refactors our codebase has earned. Health data deserves nothing less.
Who we're looking for
- A medior or senior engineer who genuinely enjoys writing code, and gets more done than any solo engineer could by working with AI agents, critically.
- Full-stack in practice: you don't need to be an expert in every layer, but nothing on the list above should scare you.
- Pragmatic and product-minded: you'd rather ship something good this week than something perfect next quarter, and you know when the opposite is true.
- Comfortable being the only engineer: broad scope, lots of ownership, no one to hide behind, and you like it that way.
- Based in the Netherlands, in our Amsterdam office two to three days a week (depending on your hours). We work in Dutch or English: we're two Dutch founders, fluent in English, so you don't need to speak Dutch.
What we offer
- A rare role: our first in-house engineer at a live product with traction and press attention, shaping how a company builds from day one.
- Founders who have managed engineering teams before and know what good collaboration looks like, without looking over your shoulder at every commit.
- A front-row seat to the most interesting question in software right now: what does engineering look like when AI does most of the typing?
-
A competitive salary
Depending on your experience, with 25 days' holiday and the statutory 8% holiday allowance.
-
The best tools money can buy
Your choice of laptop, and the AI subscriptions we use daily.
-
A €1,000 learning budget every year
For courses, books or conferences: whatever helps you grow.
-
Hybrid in Amsterdam
Two to three office days, commute costs covered, and a few work-from-anywhere weeks a year.
-
Help with the 30% ruling

How to apply
About two weeks from application to offer
-
Apply
15 minutesYour details, a link to your LinkedIn profile or CV, and your answer to the one question below.
Tell us about something real you built or fixed with AI agents, and what the AI got wrong. A few honest paragraphs are enough. The answer is the application: we read it before anything else.
We keep your application for six months, share it with no one, and delete it after that.
-
A video call with one of us
25 minutesYour motivation, the practicalities, and the honest picture of a two-person company. Ask us anything.
-
A working session at our office
60 to 90 minutesIn Amsterdam, with both founders. We build something small together with AI coding agents: how you direct the agent, what you distrust, and when you take over.
-
The offer
If it's a match on both sides, you get an offer. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.
